Most people get better at speaking the same way they get better at swimming by reading about it — they don't. You rehearse a wedding toast in the shower, freeze in a job interview, ramble through a standup, and never once get told what to fix. The one skill that shapes how you're perceived at work and in life is the one you almost never practice on purpose.
That's the gap SpinToSpeak closes. Today we're opening it up.
What SpinToSpeak is
SpinToSpeak is a speaking gym. The loop is simple:
- Spin a topic — random, on-demand, no staring at a blank page.
- Speak for 1, 3, or 5 minutes. Just you and the mic.
- Get coached — an AI delivery coach scores your talk and tells you exactly what worked and what didn't.
No sign-up to try it. No audience to perform for. Just reps, and honest feedback after every one.
The five things we score
A vague "that was good" doesn't make you better. Every SpinToSpeak report breaks your delivery into five dimensions:
- Relevance — did you actually answer the prompt, or drift?
- Confidence — do you sound like you mean it?
- Clarity — can a listener follow you the first time?
- Pace — too fast, too slow, or in the pocket?
- Structure — beginning, middle, end, or a pile of thoughts?
You get a score on each, plus specific moments to point at — the filler word you lean on, the sentence where you lost the thread, the strong open you should do more of.
How a session works
Open the app and hit spin. You'll get a prompt like "Argue the least defensible position you can think of" or "What things do you buy every week?" Pick your length — start with one minute if you're warming up. Talk. When you stop, the coach listens back and returns your report in seconds.
Then you spin again. The whole point is volume: a minute a day beats an hour once a month.
Who it's for
- Interview prep — rehearse "tell me about yourself" until it stops being terrifying.
- Language learners — build fluency and confidence in a second language with a patient coach.
- Presenters and founders — tighten your pitch, kill the ums, find your pace.
- Anyone who wants to think and speak more clearly on their feet.
